Shellac by CND

Delivering the goods.
Credibility makes all the difference.

Better science makes better products. The patent-pending formulation of solvents, monomers and polymers is why Shellac™ goes on like polish, wears like gel and removes in minutes. Plus it's hypo-allergenic and 3-FREE... containing no formaldehyde, toluene or DBP. Shellac—stands miles apart from others in the market with the science and testing to back it up.

1. What is Shellac?
Shellac is a breakthrough, patent-pending UV3 nail product created by Creative Nail Design. It is a hybrid, meaning half nail polish, half gel. that combines the ease of polish with the permanence of gels.
2. Who is Shellac best suited for? Shellac is for people who want to maintain natural nails. The formulation looks as good from day 1 to day 14.
3. Who is Shellac least suited for? Those looking to lengthen their nails. You cannot use Shellac to create a longer nail. Also, Shellac isn't for clients with extremely damaged nail beds, split or peeling nails. It is best to get on a corrective program with your manicurist before thinking about Shellac. If your nail is peeling off, it will take Shellac with it.
4. How is Shellac different from the traditional polish manicure? Typical nail polish dries by evaporation, which means your manicure is not cured until 2-3 hours after your service.  Shellac however is cured by UV light, and within minutes your nails are completely dry by the time your manicure is over.   It acts like a plasticized coating, suitable as a long lasting polish and strong enough to withstand accidental knocks.
5. How is a Shellac service different from traditional nail enhancements (fake nails)? It goes on like a polish so drills are never used or needed with Shellac, and removal does not leave nails dry, thin, or possibly torn.
6. Can you apply Shellac at home? No, Shellac can only be applied by a licensed, trained manicurist. Improper tools or techniques will give a less than desirable result with Shellac.
7. Is the Shellac formula “3-Free”?
Yes. Shellac does not include Formaldehyde, Toluene or DBP (Dibutyl Phthalate).
8. Is Shellac hypo-allergenic? Yes, a low level of photo-initiators are utilized in Shellac. Photo-initiators can lead to sensitivity with some clients.
9. Is there any odor to Shellac? A slight odor may be noticeable upon application but not as strong as nail polish. After curing in the lamp, residual odor does not remain.
10. Does Shellac removal damage the
natural nail?
No. Shellac was developed and tested for years to perfect every aspect of the Shellac process, including  removal.
11. Will Shellac last longer than 14 days? Yes, however you will notice a “line of demarcation” as your natural nail grows away from the cuticle. It is recommended that you adhere to a 14 day re-application appointment, as the adhesion will increase if worn past this point, making the removal process a little more lengthy.
12. Will soaps or other personal grooming products affect the wearability of Shellac?
No. Shellac was developed and tested to withstand the rigors of daily wear.
13. Are there any negative side effects of the frequency of removal with Shellac?
No, not as long as the system is being used correctly.
14. Can I remove my own Shellac? No. To ensure the health of the natural nail, Shellac is a professional only service and only trained Nail Professionals should apply & remove Shellac.
