Delivering the goods.
Credibility makes all the difference.
Better science makes better products. The patent-pending formulation of solvents, monomers and polymers is why Shellac™ goes on like polish, wears like gel and removes in minutes. Plus it's hypo-allergenic and 3-FREE... containing no formaldehyde, toluene or DBP. Shellac—stands miles apart from others in the market with the science and testing to back it up.
| 1. What is Shellac? |
Shellac
is a breakthrough, patent-pending UV3 nail product created by Creative
Nail Design. It is a hybrid, meaning half nail polish, half gel. that
combines the ease of polish with the permanence of gels. |
| 2. Who is Shellac best suited for? | Shellac is for people who want to maintain natural nails. The formulation looks as good from day 1 to day 14. |
| 3. Who is Shellac least suited for? | Those looking to lengthen their nails. You cannot use Shellac to create
a longer nail. Also, Shellac isn't for clients with extremely damaged
nail beds, split or peeling nails. It is best to get on a corrective
program with your manicurist before thinking about Shellac. If your
nail is peeling off, it will take Shellac with it. |
| 4. How is Shellac different from the traditional polish manicure? | Typical nail polish dries by evaporation, which means your manicure is
not cured until 2-3 hours after your service. Shellac however is
cured by UV light, and within minutes your nails are completely dry by
the time your manicure is over. It acts like a plasticized
coating, suitable as a long lasting polish and strong enough to withstand accidental knocks. |
| 5. How is a Shellac service different from traditional nail enhancements (fake nails)? | It goes on like a polish so drills are never used or needed with
Shellac, and removal does not leave nails dry, thin, or possibly torn. |
| 6. Can you apply Shellac at home? | No, Shellac can only be applied by a licensed, trained manicurist.
Improper tools or techniques will give a less than desirable result
with Shellac. |
| 7. Is the Shellac formula “3-Free”? |
Yes. Shellac does not include Formaldehyde, Toluene or DBP (Dibutyl Phthalate). |
| 8. Is Shellac hypo-allergenic? | Yes, a low level of photo-initiators are utilized in Shellac. Photo-initiators can lead to sensitivity with some clients. |
| 9. Is there any odor to Shellac? | A slight odor may be noticeable upon application but not as strong as
nail polish. After curing in the lamp, residual odor does not remain. |
| 10. Does Shellac removal damage the natural nail? |
No. Shellac was developed and tested for years to perfect every aspect of the Shellac process, including removal. |
| 11. Will Shellac last longer than 14 days? | Yes, however you will notice a “line of demarcation” as your natural
nail grows away from the cuticle. It is recommended that you adhere to
a 14 day re-application appointment, as the adhesion will increase if
worn past this point, making the removal process a little more lengthy. |
| 12. Will soaps or other personal grooming products affect the wearability of Shellac? |
No. Shellac was developed and tested to withstand the rigors of daily wear. |
| 13. Are there any negative side effects of the frequency of removal with Shellac? |
No, not as long as the system is being used correctly. |
| 14. Can I remove my own Shellac? | No. To ensure the health of the natural nail, Shellac is a professional only service and only trained Nail Professionals should apply & remove Shellac. |
